The Department of Women’s & Gender Studies welcomes you to attend an Evening with Feminista Jones as she talks about her recent work on activism, advocacy, and intersectionality in a digital world; highlighting the central roles black feminists and black feminism play in powerful contemporary political movements (like #BlackLivesMatter, #SayHerName, #YouOKSis..). A brief reception will follow. A limited number of copies of her newest book, Reclaiming Our Space will be available for purchase. This is a ticketed event but it is free and open to the public. Tickets will be available starting on 2/1/19 at 8:00am through Eventbright.
Doors will open at 3:30 pm for ticketed attendees. We will begin admitting those without tickets at 4:15pm. There will be an overflow room with a live stream of the event if needed.
