On the third anniversary of the National Women’s March on Washington, in solidarity with this year’s march, and as part of a national effort, the Mid-Missouri Solidarity Network will be holding a rally and march in Downtown Columbia, MO.

This intersectional rally will bring together a broad cross-section of concerned progressives. Our focus will be on engagement and empowerment. It is our intention to voice our dissent in regard to the direction in which some are attempting to take our country and share a positive message for change and that we can all be a part of it!

Gathering and Music (Violet Vonder Haar & Friends) to begin at 1 p.m. Speakers to follow. Our march will take us on a highly visible route through downtown CoMo.

Speakers at this year’s event are Rev. Molly Housh Gordon, Evonnia Woods and Laura Wacker.

Please share the event far and wide.

Notes: This is an outdoor event. Please dress to the weather; layers suggested.

In the event of inclement weather (winter storm or extreme cold), the event Rally & March will be postponed to Saturday, Jan. 25. Please check here if in doubt. We will post any postponement info ASAP should such a decision is made.

We also are working with Operation Safe Winter to collect donations of warm clothes and other necessities for the unsheltered in our community. You can bring donations to a collection point at the rally. Please keep in mind that there are women living on the streets and consider bringing feminine care products, soap/shampoo, socks, underwear for their needs.
